The Swiss Childhood Cancer Registry (SCCR) and the Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) welcome the presented draft for the new law on cancer registration.  National guidelines and a legal basis are important to simplify and standardise the work of cancer registries, to improve data protection, dataquality and secure financing. Switzerland creates a registration system for cancer such as it is existing in neighbouring countries.

Switzerland creates a registration system for cancer such as it is common in the neighbouring countries. In the decade, the SCCR did important work in collection and registration of information, optimisation of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and late follow up for childhood cancer patients. This success was administered on a national level and found its influence in the creation of the new law.  The RSCE welcomes especially the consideration of the particular situation of cancer in children and adolescents and the necessity of the RSCE in the draft of the new loi.
